August 23, 2022 -- The La Jolla Light recently published an article highlighting the efforts of White Sands to support the endangered monarch butterfly population. White Sands resident Carol Studebaker and the White Sands Green Committee, established years ago to get seniors involved in environmental issues, added milkweed gardens on residents’ patios last year to help boost the population of western monarch butterflies.
