This is an update on the Southern California wildfires impacting our communities
Our teams will continue to monitor the wildfires around Los Angeles County into the weekend. Our Royal Oaks independent and assisted living residents are preparing to return home this weekend following confirmation it is safe to go back to the community. Our Royal Oaks health center residents are with our health center team members, continuing to shelter in place at the community and our Rosewood Court residents will prepare to return home once evacuation orders are lifted for their area and the community is safe for re-entry. We are also continuing to support our team members in the regions impacted by the wildfires as well.
We are grateful that power and utilities have returned for residents at Royal Vista Terrace, Andres Duarte I and II, as well as Westminster Gardens, our life plan community in Duarte.
At this time, our teams continue to focus on providing care and services tonight and into the weekend for our displaced residents and team members.
Thank you again for your support for our residents, team members and families. We will continue to monitor the status of the wildfires and provide updates as they become available.
Evening update from Jan 9 is below:
Our teams continue to support residents impacted by power outages at Royal Vista Terrace, Andres Duarte I and II, as well as Westminster Gardens, our life plan community in Duarte. For our affordable housing communities of Casa de la Vista and Fern Lodge in Redlands, power has been restored and residents will be able to remain at home.
Our Royal Oaks independent and assisted living residents will remain offsite at a hotel in Ontario through tomorrow, along with our residents who were evacuated from Rosewood Court, our affordable housing community in Pasadena. Our Royal Oaks health center residents will continue sheltering in place at the community with health center team members. At this time, our teams are focused on continuing to provide care and services tonight and potentially into the weekend for our displaced residents and team members. We do not expect our evacuated residents and team members to be able to return to our communities until it is safe to do so.
Thank you again for your support for our residents, team members and families. We will continue to monitor the status of the wildfires and provide updates as they become available.
Morning update from Jan 9 is below:
We are grateful for the support for our team members as we continue to monitor the wildfires in and around the Los Angeles County region.
Yesterday evening, several of our affordable housing communities began preparing for evacuation ahead of the Sunset fire, located in the Hollywood hills; the Hurst fire in Santa Clarita; and the Eaton fire in the eastern Los Angeles foothills. Teams at Castle Argyle in Hollywood; Andres Duarte I and II, as well as Royal Vista Terrace, in Duarte; and Canterbury Village in Santa Clarita, prepared for potential evacuation orders. Our residents in those communities remain in their homes and no evacuation orders have been given. Our teams continue to support residents impacted by power outages at Royal Vista Terrace, Andres Duarte I and II, as well as Westminster Gardens, our life plan community in Duarte.
Our Royal Oaks independent and assisted living residents have been relocated off campus. Those residents who are not staying with family and friends are with our team members at a hotel in neighboring Ontario and Royal Oaks health center residents who are sheltering in place are still prepared to leave immediately should the need arise. Residents who were evacuated from Rosewood Court, our affordable housing community in Pasadena, are staying at the Ontario hotel as well. We are also supporting our team members who were displaced by the wildfires.
Outside of Los Angeles, our affordable housing communities of Casa de la Vista and Fern Lodge in Redlands have also been impacted by power and utility outages, which are expected to continue today and into tomorrow. Our teams are working to secure hotel rooms for residents who are not staying with family and friends. At this time, we do not expect our evacuated residents and team members to be able to return to our communities until it is safe to do so.
Thank you again for your support for our residents, team members and families. We will continue to monitor the status of the wildfires and provide updates as they become available.
Evening update from Jan 8 is below:
Due to the Eaton fire, our teams completed evacuations for Royal Oaks, our life plan community near Duarte and Bradbury, and Rosewood Court, our affordable housing community in north Pasadena. Residents and team members who are not staying with family or friends have been relocated to our other Southern California communities or hotels, and we also have several Royal Oaks health center residents who are sheltering in place but are prepared to leave immediately should the need arise.
Our teams are continuing to monitor the fire activity near our two affordable housing communities in Duarte, Andres Duarte Terrace I and II, to prepare for evacuation if necessary, and we will also continue to monitor other wildfires in the Southern California region. Our teams will help ensure that we provide meals, toiletries and all necessary supplies, medication and general assistance for displaced residents and team members throughout this event, as we do not anticipate being able to return to our communities before tomorrow morning.
Thank you again for your support for everyone impacted by these wildfires. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
Morning update from Jan 8 is below:
The Eaton fire in the eastern foothills of Los Angeles has currently spread to more than 2,200 acres, prompting evacuation orders for Royal Oaks, our life plan community near Duarte and Bradbury, and Rosewood Court, our affordable housing community in north Pasadena. Our team members are on site, helping with transportation and relocation efforts for Royal Oaks residents, who will be relocated to Westminster Gardens in Duarte, Regents Point in Irvine, Redwood Terrace in Escondido, White Sands La Jolla in La Jolla and Plymouth Village in Redlands. Our Rosewood Court residents have been transported to Casa de la Paloma and our two affordable housing communities in Duarte, Andres Duarte Terrace I and II, are monitoring the fire to prepare for evacuation if necessary. Additionally, we are in contact with our impacted team members who are in evacuation areas to provide assistance to them as needed.
