On November 14, resident George Gruner was one of two distinguished honorees to be inducted into the Media, Communications and Journalism Hall of Fame at Fresno State University.

Known for being a dogged local reporter and editor at the Fresno Bee, Gruner was once jailed for two weeks for refusing to reveal a confidential source. He retired as executive editor of the Bee in 1988 after 44 years in journalism. He also worked for the Oakland Tribune and Stars & Stripes.

Congratulations to George Gruner!
