April 26, 2021-- Resident and San Francisco Giants superfan, Eddie Sklarz, hosted a grab-and-go event outside the community’s Piazza Bistro to celebrate Major League Baseball’s opening day. Everyone was encouraged to don jerseys or their favorite team apparel and pick up opening day bags filled with Cracker Jack, baseball wristbands, soda, and a trivia sheet about Major League Baseball and opening day.
Residents also competed in a friendly contest of bean bag baseball, and a stadium backdrop was arranged for photos to the tune of popular game day classics such as “Sweet Caroline” and “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.”
Shaun Rushforth, executive director at The Terraces, said “There’s no bigger baseball or Giants fan than Mr. Sklarz, and I can’t think of a better ambassador for our opening day celebration. Growing up, the start of another baseball season was always wrapped in that rejuvenating energy of spring. That’s never been truer after this past year, and all of us at The Terraces are welcoming opening day and the months ahead with optimism and open arms.”
