Grand Lake Gardens' Philosophy of Successful Aging

Grand Lake Gardens’ philosophy of successful aging is to empower residents to participate in various ways in our community as well as the local area with the idea that aging doesn’t have to mean limitations. Grand Lake Gardens’ commitment to successful aging includes various activities that touch on the spiritual, physical, intellectual and social aspects of aging.

On Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) visited residents and team members. This event really engaged residents intellectually. The first part of the event featured a formal presentation, followed by an interactive portion in which residents were invited to ask questions on the significance of the holiday and the congresswoman’s plans for our constituency.

Over the summer residents took part in an class promoting the physical component of successful aging through a “Gentle Movement” class.

These are just a few examples of some wonderful opportunities at Grand Lake Gardens. There are a variety of offerings every day that allow residents to experience all of these wonderful aspects of successful aging – here are just a few more examples of what residents enjoy all the time: movie nights, musical programs, trips to museum exhibitions, and more.
