lesliehoweLeslie Howe is a great asset to the Life Enrichment Department and Valle Verde. She leads and coordinates many activities for the campus. She decorates special areas for holidays and events, and quite frequently residents see her on a
ladder decorating at high levels. She has many other special talents that residents and staff appreciate.

Leslie has been at Valle Verde for two years. She states, “I started in the Transportation Department when I was hired as an employee. I took individual residents to their doctor appointments and picked up residents from hospitals. Then I drove the Cam Tram for a couple of months, decorating it with lights and ornaments for Thanksgiving and Christmas with individuals commenting on how beautiful the tram was at nights. I also helped with Life Enrichment activities.”

“In June 2015, when an opening was available in the Life Enrichment Department, I was accepted into the Department and felt well included by team members and residents. My title is Life Enrichment Coordinator. My duties include planning and participating in activities in Quail Lodge with residents; playing games; showing movies; serving as editor of the monthly newsletter Quail Connection. I also design and host walking tours every Friday for residents. Other duties as Coordinator include planning, coordinating and executing events, such as the Breezeway events and the parties, in which I’m a pretty good bartender.”

Leslie adds, “Also with my background in retail merchandising, I have been enlisted to decorate the campus for holidays and special events." Responses from residents are always very positive.

She further explains, “My husband Howard Howe is a talented musician and I have recommended him for playing at special events on campus. Most recently he played his accordion for the Oktoberfest at Quail Lodge.”  Residents talked about how much they really enjoyed and appreciated Howard and his music.

“Lastly, I am an actress with years of experience in live theater, commercials and voice overs. My most recent performance was in Macbeth at the Ensemble Theater, and I would like to thank all the residents who came and supported my work.”

Leslie enthusiastically commented, “This is the best job I have ever had, and I love being here!”

Everyone appreciates Leslie in all her roles, and we thank her for all her efforts in making life more active and enjoyable at Valle Verde.
