Congresswoman Jackie Speier meets with Rotary Terrace residents

Rotary Terrace residents and team members hosted special guest Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) for a meeting and tour of our South San Francisco affordable housing community.

Residents had the opportunity to share their stories with Rep. Speier whose office has supported several of our residents. Speier also discussed some key issues including the push to increase funding for affordable housing, Medicare and Social Security.

Also Bruce Wright and Dr. Mark Barradas, members of the South San Francisco Rotary Club, were among our special guests for this event. The Rotary Club contributed over $12 million toward the development of our 81-unit residence that opened in early 2019.

Speier praised the South San Francisco Rotary Club for partnering with HumanGood to help build the new community; and she urged our organization and the Rotary Club to continue to work together on future projects, furthering efforts to meet the need for affordable housing.

Rotary Terrace, located a quarter mile from a Caltrain station and within the city’s downtown redevelopment subarea, is one of 95 HumanGood affordable housing communities that are currently located in California, Delaware, Washington State and Pennsylvania.
