thebarnSenior Correspondent has continued to feature the writing works of Judson Park residents. Resident Bob Larsen was recently featured with his fourth publication for the national website. In his current article, Bob shares his memories during the summer of 1940 in Raymond, Nebraska.

When Bob's family moved to Raymond, finding a rental house was not easy, but his dad finally found a small house with a barn that has been the original farm dating back to before the town existed. The only problem was that the barn listed about 30 degrees and was about to fall. It looked like a slight push would send the barn to barn-heaven, but it was the Nebraska version of the leaning tower of Pisa.

Bob's dad made a deal with the owner that if he could dismantle the barn, he cold salvage and sell the lumber. So in the evenings it became one of their family activities to watch his dad take board after board off the barn.

Bob recalls this summer clearly in his article, The Barn. To learn more about the barn, click here to read his full story.
