July 19, 2022 -- Nurses Week is celebrated each year from May 6–12 to honor nurses for their contributions to the medical profession and their dedication to residents, as well as their continued sacrifices throughout the ongoing global pandemic.

This year, we asked team members to submit InspireMe recognitions for Clinical team members. We caught up with some of those amazing nursing team members so we can continue to recognize them all year long!

Q: What inspired you to become a nurse?

A: My grandmother spent time in different nursing homes before she passed. I appreciated the skill and dedication of the nurses who cared for her and saw how the quality of care directly affected my loved one’s health and well-being.

Q: What is your favorite memory during your time at HumanGood?

A: It is bittersweet, but it is the connections I have experienced with families of long-term residents who have passed. The appreciation for our care and their deep love for their family member are inspiring to me.

Q: What’s the best part about being a nurse at HumanGood?

A: The high quality of care and the connection we have with our residents.

Q: What’s the most important thing you’ve learned during your time as a HumanGood nurse?

A: Each individual is precious and deserves our respect and care.

Q: What inspired you to become a nurse?

A: I’ve always loved helping others.

Q: What is your favorite memory during your time at HumanGood?

A: The celebration of team members of the month. It’s inspiring and we appreciate being recognized.

Q: What’s the best part about being a nurse at HumanGood?

A: The personal connections with staff and residents.

Q: What’s the most important thing you’ve learned during your time as a HumanGood nurse?

A: Communication and leadership skills, and the personal relationships I’ve built in my team.

Q: What inspired you to become a nurse?

A: I graduated outside of the U.S. and my top priority was to go abroad for a greener pasture, and help my parents who spent a lot of money on my four-year BSN program.

Q: What’s the best part about being a nurse at HumanGood?

A: The skills of the nurses in Piedmont is like working in acute care. I’ve been there, done that. I’ve worked in acute, sub-acute and ICU. I’m impressed with the nurses in Piedmont Gardens. The working environment is like family. The challenges are there but at the same time, it’s rewarding.

Q: What’s the most important thing you’ve learned during your time as a HumanGood nurse?

A: Respect and mutual understanding with each one of us. Teamwork goes a long way.
