Rosewood, a HumanGood life plan community, is delighted to announce its golden jubilee, marking 50 years of dedicated service in providing a warm and welcoming environment for older adults seeking a vibrant and enriching lifestyle in Bakersfield, California.

For the past five decades, Rosewood has been a cornerstone in Bakersfield, offering a wide variety of social, cultural, and lifelong learning opportunities for older adults. With a commitment to fostering independence, well-being, and a sense of community, Rosewood offers independent living apartments, as well as assisted living, long-term skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, and memory support — all on its beautiful 11-acre campus.

"We are immensely proud to celebrate 50 years of serving the Bakersfield community," said Rochelle Balaban, executive director, Rosewood. "This milestone is a testament to the dedication of our team members, the support of our residents and their families, and the trust placed in us by the Bakersfield community. We look forward to continuing our mission of enhancing the lives of older adults for many more years to come."

Rosewood has continuously evolved to meet the changing needs of its residents while maintaining a steadfast commitment to providing the highest quality of care. The community's dedication to fostering a sense of belonging, purpose, and connection has created a legacy that resonates with generations of residents and their families.

To commemorate this milestone, Rosewood has planned a series of celebratory events throughout the anniversary month for residents and team members who live and work in the Bakersfield community. These celebrations will reflect on the community's rich history while looking forward to the next 50 years.

The Rosewood Lifestyle Enrichment Department is organizing events for residents, team members, and families, including a Rosewood Fun Fact and Trivia Day on Monday, April 22, from 1 to 2 p.m. They will also host a Rosewood Resident Generational Day on Tuesday, April 23, from 2 to 3 p.m., where residents will share stories about their families who have resided at Rosewood and their decision to live there. Team members will also have an opportunity to talk about their family members who have worked or are currently working in the life plan community. The anniversary celebration, which will culminate on April 25, will include an exciting morning performance by the West High School Band.
