Update on Caldor fire September 1, 2021

The Caldor fire continues to threaten the Lake Tahoe Basin. Due to the proximity of the wildfire, the shelter at Gardnerville Community Center was moved to the Reno Sparks Convention Center and other locations. We have 15 residents from Kelly Ridge and Tahoe Senior Plaza who were transported to shelters, four of whom were taken to a nearby hospital due to their needs. Our team members are continuing to support our residents while also evacuating from their own homes.

Meanwhile, our teams in Redding, CA, continue to monitor the Dixie fire and several other active wildfires. Our two communities in the area remain prepared to evacuate if required and are staying in regular contact with the appropriate authorities.

As more information becomes available, we will continue to share updates with you. Thank you to everyone for sharing your thoughts of concern and prayers for our impacted team members and residents and please stay safe and well.
