August 18, 2025 – Learning about our team members’ first-year experiences helps us grow and move our mission forward.
Colleen Goad started her position as fitness coordinator at Judson Park on September 24, 2024. Read below to learn about Colleen’s experience and impressions of HumanGood.
What drew you to HumanGood? When I grew up, I never knew what I wanted to do with my life, but I knew I wanted to make a positive impact on others. I began a journey of professions until I became a personal trainer and that is when I knew I would finally make an impact. I cheered on others to accomplish fitness goals, lose weight and gain strength. I loved what I was doing and finally saw the impact I was making. When the opportunity came to me to join Judson Park, my heart exploded. I love our senior population, and I knew I could make the greatest positive impact working with them.
What about HumanGood’s culture stands out to you?
The culture of teamwork stands out the most. There’s never the attitude of “that’s not my job.” My team is always there to support me in any activities I plan, and I love supporting them. The best part of this community is that there is no separation, we are all here together, working together. I love knowing that I can always lean on my team members and we all have the collective goal of enriching the lives of our residents together.
How do you see our mission of inspiring the best life in action?
I am the happiest I have ever been. I love coming to work and seeing my residents thrive in all aspects and the joy I feel knowing I get to be a part of their journey.
What do HumanGood’s values mean to you?
I love the value of innovation. There are so many ways to work out besides traditional exercise classes. I have felt free to try many new classes from line dancing, origami, cardio drumming to positive thinking. My team supports me and my residents will try anything with me. HumanGood’s value of impact means the most to me. I may be a small part of a resident’s day but for those 45 minutes, I get the opportunity to share my smile, cheer them on, encourage them and lift them up. I feel lucky I get to come to Judson Park every day and I finally know, I am making the greatest positive impact in others’ lives
