What Is Short-Term Rehabilitation?

Short-term rehabilitation—or post-acute, transitional care—services are available while you recover from a health event, such as a hospital stay for an illness, injury or surgery. The goal of your short-stay rehabilitation is to regain your strength and relieve pain so you can get back to your home and routine quickly. Post-acute services can be needed at any age and include:

  • Personalized health plans focused on outcomes.
  • Plans for physical, occupational and/or speech therapy.
  • 24/7 on-call assistance from experienced professionals.
  • Education to enhance your recovery as you return home.
