Our sustainability statement

Written by HumanGood | Apr 06, 2026

April 6, 2026 - To reflect our commitment to caring for our environment—and the work already happening across our organization—we are proud to share our HumanGood sustainability statement:

“At HumanGood, residents, team members and leadership work together to build a sustainable future.

We have a moral and financial responsibility to build a sustainable future. By uniting residents, team members and leadership around a shared vision of environmental responsibility, we will reduce our environmental footprint through responsible waste management, energy and water conservation, efficient transportation and thoughtful land use.

These actions both protect our planet and strengthen operational performance and — most importantly — safeguard the health, well-being and resilience of our residents and communities while serving as a beacon of sustainability leadership for others to follow.”

“Caring for our environment is an important part of inspiring the best lives for everyone in our communities,” said John Cochrane, CEO, HumanGood. “Together, our HumanGood team members and residents are helping to create a brighter, more sustainable future.”

This statement was created in partnership with our Environmental Sustainability Action Committee (ESAC), a team member and resident partnership committee at HumanGood. "The HumanGood sustainability statement was a significant project for our committee and is proof that successful collaboration between residents and team members leads to tangible results. Our hope is that it will be used by HumanGood to guide its decisions going forward and lead to meaningful policy changes,” said Dick Storbo, co-chair, ESAC and resident of Valle Verde.
