HumanGood healthcare teams are continuing to track the latest news and information from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as state and local public health department directives. The health and safety of our residents and team members is our highest priority, and with the increasing spread of the Delta variant of COVID-19 it is critical that we do all we can to protect one another from this disease.
HumanGood has made COVID vaccinations mandatory for team members across the organization. Team members must have received both doses of a two-shot vaccine or one dose of a one-dose vaccine by October 15, 2021. As one of the largest nonprofit senior living providers in the country, we are joining many of our industry and healthcare peers in mandating vaccination.
With 96 affordable housing communities and 21 life plan communities across eight states, we operate in a complex environment. We continue to monitor the COVID situation daily, and our communities are updating their residents, family members and team members regarding changes at the state and local level.
At this time, we have sixteen current positive cases (amongst both residents and team members) of COVID-19 in our 21 life plan communities, where we serve approximately 5,400 residents: three (one resident and two team members) at Judson Park; one team member at Piedmont Gardens; two residents at Redwood Terrace; one team member at Royal Oaks; three residents at Rydal Park; three team members at the Terraces at San Joaquin Gardens; two team members at Valle Verde; and one resident at Windsor.
We have eight positive cases (amongst both residents and team members) in our 96 affordable housing communities, where we serve more than 8,000 residents: one resident at LC Hotchkiss Terrace; one resident at Sierra Gateway I; one team member at Sierra Gateway II; one resident at Cantrell Place; one resident at Manila Terrace; one resident at Mount Rubidoux Manor; one team member at Oak Knolls Haven; one resident at Kelly Ridge; and one resident at Park Paseo. HumanGood has approximately 5,000 team members throughout our communities and community support centers.
Our life plan communities continue to operate with restrictions. Masks are required for all while in our communities and we continue to ask residents to practice physical distancing as much as possible.
All visitors, vendors, contractors, team members and residents are screened upon entry into our life plan communities to investigate any travel exposures and to confirm to the best of our ability that they are symptom-free. Any team members experiencing symptoms are required to report their symptoms and/or diagnoses to their supervisor and are strictly prohibited from coming to work in accordance with CDC guidelines.
With respect to the life plan community residents in our care, we are monitoring and focusing on symptom screening, infection surveillance, reviewing procedures and continuously adapting our reopening plans.
We encourage our affordable housing residents to follow local public health guidelines. In addition, we have taken measures including increased cleaning of all common areas on a regular basis; signs are posted throughout the community encouraging physical distancing and frequent hand washing.
Our teams are continuing efforts to keep all communities stocked with medical supplies and sanitizing agents/products.
Again, the health, security and safety of our residents and team members is our highest priority. We will continue to monitor local, state and federal reports, and share information as it becomes available.
