August 12, 2025 – HumanGood President and CEO John Cochrane shared this message about the passing of Board Chair Randy Stamper:
It’s with a heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of Randy Stamper, a devoted husband and father, our long-time board chair, a steady and generous leader—and most important to me, a beloved friend.
Randy served ABHOW and HumanGood for more than 30 years, leaving a lasting imprint on who we are and how we lead. His dedication to our mission of inspiring people's best life was unwavering, and his belief in our people, the family of HumanGood—our team members, our residents, our boards—was profound.
When I last spoke with Randy, he talked about how proud he was of HumanGood. Not content with just looking back, Randy was tremendously excited by what lay ahead for us. His faith in our ability to deliver on our promise of inspiring people's best lives was immense and inspiring. That conversation stayed with me. Randy never lost sight of what really matters: people, purpose, and the power of community.
In an earlier note, I shared something Randy wrote to the HumanGood family about what makes this company so special: “The heart you bring to this work is the secret sauce behind our success.” He recognized that culture is everything and he knew how valuable, unique, and even precious our culture is. He knew that culture well because he helped create it and he certainly lived it.
We’re deeply grateful for the love and support so many of you have already extended to Conni, Britt, and Taryn. Please continue to hold them in your prayers and thoughts.
It's hard to really capture how much Randy meant to this organization, to me, and to all of you who got to know him through his many years of faithful service. I respected him as a boss but loved him as a friend. While it breaks my heart to say goodbye, I do so with a heart filled with gratitude for the wonderful gift of his life that he shared so generously with all of us.
With gratitude,
John
